My Horse Shopping Wishlist

It’s almost time to buy your tickets for the National Equine Show. Stand by for their release on September 5th. My top ticket pick is the new Meet & Great Day Pass. Equilibrium Products  Massage Mitt Hotspot

My horse and I agree that Massage Mitt with heat is the perfect way to soothe and relax muscles. It is easy to clean so no bother for us to share. I take it home to charge the battery and it is a popular addition to my horse kit.

It is comfortable to use, being lightweight makes it easy to soothe hard working muscles. I often finish off a grooming session by using the mitt. My horse likes the heat. I like to watch his reaction and facial expression to select the massage settings.

You can choose low for horses to aid relaxation after exercise. The medium setting is great for general maintenance or to help your horse warm up before you ride. The high setting gives a more intense massage.

Treating your horse to a regular massage helps to maintain healthy blood and lymph circulation, soothes tired muscles, supports recovery after exercise and promotes relaxation. When you add in the heat setting you are helping your horse to relax as it helps to ease away tension. Massage will also help to improve your horse’s flexibility and freedom of movement.

A riding hat is one of the most important pieces of kit you are going to own. In my mind it needs to not only fit correctly it must feel great too, meet the highest safety standards and be something you are proud to wear. I always feel as though I ride better when I’m comfortable and trust my riding hat!

Reincoat Pro

It’s time to finally stop worrying about the wet and miserable weather! Reincoat Pro will give you the confidence to ride out in the worse weather without feeling uncomfortable! Reincoat Pro is one of my favourites from the Reincoat family who have been designing “the most waterproof, breathable and comfortable Reincoats” since 2014. I recommend the Teal colour but you really will be spoilt for choice.

For me the biggest tick is that it’s lightweight and can be adjusted for comfort in the saddle. It is breathable and has a comforting and soft full fleece lining. The hood fits over the top of your riding hat keeping you dry and warm. You can wash the coat at 30 degrees just remember not to add softener. It drys quickly too.

Each season I rush to explore the collection and seek out a few of my favourite tops as well as try on the new arrivals.

My horse essentials from NAF

My horse and I have a pre ride routine to set us up to be in a calm and relaxed state of mind. He is an older horse and I like to support him with a small dose of probiotic. He likes the taste and I’ve noticed it supports his gut. NAF makes his favourite and even though it looks like a wormer tube he is not put off. He likes to have it before we start to get ready and opens his mouth to take it. He doesn’t need to wear a headcollar or be persuaded to eat it, he will even grab the syringe if you let him. It seems to act quickly and I’m pleased that he can access the live probiotic yeast. If you have to feed antibiotics or have a stressed horse from worming or travelling then supporting gut health is easy with NAF products.

The next part of my routine is grooming and tacking up. My horse knows that he will find treats in my pocket and he adores the NAF Blueberry and Banana flavour. We’ve carried out extensive testing to find his favourites and these are always a winner. A lot of his friends enjoy these too. Even the younger horses who have no idea what treats are usually ask for a second one. I trained my horse to stand absolutely still at the mounting block with a jar full of treats. My horse knows that he gets a treat for standing by the block and another for standing still until I am onboard. He is a very clever horse who will happily stand and wait by the mounting block any time! We get through quite a lot of treats as one might expect because he is just so cute.
